The disposable mask prevents harmful particles from entering your lungs by providing FFP3 particle filtration.
The folded design allows easy storage in the pocket.
It is also individually wrapped and sealed.
The patented Synsafe® material with a built-in pre-filter, filters even the tiniest particles. Breathing resistance is extremely low.
The mask is lightweight, its shape forms to the face creating a good seal.
The mask fits comfortably also when you are wearing protective goggles or glasses.
This product complies with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Centre for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations for NIOSH certified N95 respirators.
The WHO is recommending NIOSH certified N95 respirators, for the protection against the Avian Influenza virus. The European and UK equivalent to NIOSH N95 protection is FFP2 or higher.
The UK's Health and Safety Executive are recommending the use of FFP3 approved masks. This is intended for professionals who are working in close proximity to patients, and who are involved in aerosol generating procedures.
This FFP3 Respiratory Face Mask can help protect healthy individuals, by preventing person to person airborne contamination, in the event of a virus mutation. FFP3 masks filter out approximately 99% of droplets, which are 0.3 microns in size and over; the majority of sneezed droplets contaminated with influenza will be bigger in size than 0.3 microns.
Although wearing FFP3 respiratory face masks provides protection from airborne contamination, it does not guarantee full immunity against the Avian flu. The Department of Health advises that in the case of a flu pandemic, a combination of an FFP3 face mask, eye goggles and gloves should be used. In addition, unnecessary travel should be minimized or avoided, unless absolutely essential, and people should be wearing all the essential Personal Protection.Useful information for your FFP3 face mask
(For a full reference please read the manufacturers enclosed information leaflet, supplied with the purchase of every mask):
Disposable FFP3 face masks can be used for approximately 8-10 hours (can vary depending on the environment). When the user starts feeling some breathing resistance, that is normally a good indication that the mask should be replaced. The current recommendation is to replace your disposable FFP3 mask at least every day. In addition, FFP3 respiratory masks should be disposed off when they get dirty or damaged.
No. There are different sizes, depending on the age. We supply an adult size FFP3 mask, a small size FFP3 mask, suitable for kids 6-12 years old and an infant size FFP3 for use by kids up to 6 years of age.
Because the virus can enter our body through the mucus membranes of our nose, mouth and eyes it is recommended that in the event of a pandemic a combination of an FFP3 face mask, eye goggles and gloves should be used. The use of the gloves is recommended to help prevent infection by touching a hard surface that has already been contaminated by touch from someone who is infected.
According to the UK Department of Health, you can reduce the risk of catching or spreading influenza during a pandemic, but not completely eliminate it, by:
Covering your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing, using a tissue when possible;
Disposing of dirty tissues promptly and carefully - bag and bin them;
Avoiding non-essential travel and large crowds whenever possible;
Maintaining good basic hygiene, for example washing your hands frequently with soap and water to reduce the spread of the virus from your hands to your face, or to other people;
Cleaning hard surfaces (e.g. kitchen work tops, door handles) frequently, using a normal cleaning product;
Making sure your children follow this advice.
